Cliche New Years Post

Looking back on this year it's a bit overwhelming to think of everything that has happened. God orchestrated so much in twelve months, it's incredible. I can't summarize it all. I can't try to understand everything, but I can say that I'm truly grateful for what he has shown me through the experiences that I have had. A few weeks ago I walked across a stage, signifying my being done with the "college years". These last four and a half years have taught me so much. I have been completely molded into a new person. God brought in so many new opportunities and broke me down in ways that I needed him to.

Going into this new year, I'm a bit frustrated with myself in trying to find a New Year's Resolution. I'm sick of having resolutions that involve "being healthier" and "getting closer to God". It's one thing to say, it's another thing to do. I think one thing that I want to develop more is a better spirit of gratitude. Of not trying to waltz through life and get, get, get, without actually taking time every day to reflect on what he's doing. To focus on the little things that he puts in my life. Now I know that I am, by no means, an eloquent, witty writer. I get self conscious when I write for anyone to see. So that's part of why I want to do this.

My New Year's Resolution is to post on here every day. It could be something that I took away from that day, one way I saw God working in my life, or something that I  just simply feel grateful for. So I'll start with today.

Jan. 1, 2012

Woke up in the new year with my sister by my side. Enjoyed a little lunch at Johnny Carinos with the fam. Listened to dad scream at the refs on the t.v. as he watched the lions game. Sat next to a couple in the theatre that sounded like two beach walruses when they laughed. Came home and played the game "Would You Rather"? with the fam. Dad loves this game because he gets to get all "philosophical" on us and gives long speeches.
