A Day full of Dates.

To start the day off was a trip to good old Mr. Burger with the old man. I don't know what it is about those "old people breakfast spots" that I love so much. Maybe it's the overcooked bacon and slightly burnt American Fries? Maybe it's just the slower pace from every one in the place? I just can't put my finger on it... but they will always have a place in my heart.

I got to sit down and have a good heart to heart with one of my favorite men on the planet. We talked about the new stage of life that we're both leading into. For dad it's being an empty nester and knowing how to love my mom in the best way possible. For me, it's walking into this new adult life with no idea where God is leading me, yet learning to trust and allow myself to dream.

From there I got to head down to Rockford to meet up for coffee with this lovely bride to be. We both got out of our cars and gave each other bear hugs (one of the many reasons why I love this girl so much). Then I was handed a candle that said "bridesmaid?" on it. This resulted in embarrassing ourselves in the middle of the street with my overcome excitement for this honor she had just bestowed upon me. Our 2 hour coffee date consisted of bridesmaids dresses, mason jars, fear of the unknown, laughter, bitterness towards boys, God's love and redemption and constant pursuit of us, dreams for the future, etc. I just can't get enough of this girl. I can't wait to celebrate her and Brian this summer.

Last but not least, my beautiful Tennessee girl. Emily oh Emily. This girl just gets me. Again, talks about boys and keeping the bar set high. About the opportunities we both have in the next semester and our willingness to let go of fears we may have. To surrender and allow God to capture our hearts in any way he pleases.

I could get used to this whole "not work and go on dates all day" thing...
